Registrations are still available through the official website of the event to be held from the 5th to the 9th of November in Tejeda
Canarian residents and finishers of previous editions will be able to benefit from a special discount on the registration fee
The 360º The Challenge Gran Canaria, one of the most extreme mountain races in the world, will return from the 5th to the 9th of November with its tenth edition. The town of Tejeda, declared one of the most beautiful villages in Spain, will be the epicentre of an epic adventure that has already attracted its first 50 participants in just two weeks. Registrations are still available through the official website of the race: www.360thechallenge.com. The next edition of the 360º The Challenge Gran Canaria has once again raised great expectations among athletes specialised in this kind of races. So far there are participants from 12 countries such as France, Croatia, Switzerland, Italy, Poland, Finland and Ireland, among others.
Arista Eventos, the company organising the race, will be revealing details of the route over the coming months, such as the distance, the elevation gain and the basecamps. In the last edition of 2024, runners experienced a route of 258 kilometres and 12,669 of positive difference in altitude, where 67 of the 95 participants managed to cross the finish line in Tejeda. One of the most remarkable aspects is that the participants will not know the route of the race until 10 days before the start, to which must be added that it will be an unmarked route, so participants must have high navigation options with GPS and cartography. They will also have to have experience in this type of race in order to know how to optimally manage the competition with lack of sleep and the changing weather conditions of the island depending on its orography.
In the 2024 edition, the French Claire Bannwarth and the Italian Marco Gubert were the winners, winning their fifth and third titles respectively. Two Gran Canarian climbed the podium, the debutant Álvaro Santana reached the finish line in third place behind Gubert and the Frenchman Julien Chorier; while Sandra Moreno was runner-up in the race, achieving her best result to date.
Discount for Canarian residents and finishers of previous editions of the race
Once again this year, Canary Island residents will be able to benefit from a special discount on the registration fee and the option of paying in instalments will be offered once again for those who wish to do so. Likewise, participants who have been finishers in previous editions of the race will have a discount of 30 euros per edition up to a maximum of four participations.
The 360º The Challenge Gran Canaria is organised by Arista Eventos, with the sponsorship of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria through Turismo de Gran Canaria and the Instituto Insular de Deportes; the Government of the Canary Islands with Promotur – Islas Canarias; the Town Hall of Tejeda; Joma and Fred.
