The 360º The Challenge Gran Canaria opens registrations this Wednesday, March 20, starting at 12:00 noon. The self-sufficiency mountain race, with a distance of more than 250 kilometers, will once again welcome the best ultra-distance runners in the world to Tejeda between November 13 and 17.

This race, which will celebrate its ninth edition this year, runs through practically all the municipalities of Gran Canaria. Thus, Arista Eventos, the organizing company, is currently outlining the route, which will not be made known to the participants until 10 days before the start date and which will be unmarked. Therefore, those registered, apart from being in good physical condition to face the more than 14,000 meters of unevenness of the route, will have to demonstrate orientation skills.

For the third consecutive year, Tejeda will be the nerve center of the 360º The Challenge Gran Canaria, in another example of the commitment of the municipality of Tejeda to trail running thanks to its splendid trails that add to the great offer of accommodation and restaurants in the town for both participants and their families.

Among the outstanding winners are runners such as the Italians Luca Papi, Marco Gubert and Peter Kienzl; the French Claire Bannwarth and the Romanian Claudiu Beletoiu; as well as the Spanish Esther Hernández and the Italians Annemarie Gross and Marta Poretti. In the last edition, the Romanian Claudiu Beletoiu was the winner, followed by the French Claire Bannwarth, winner in the women’s category, while the Canary Islander José Bordón took third place. Of the registered participants, 59 dropped out of the race, and only 25 runners managed to complete it successfully.

The 360º The Challenge Gran Canaria has a hundred places available, which will be available from this Wednesday on the website www.360thechallenge.com. Canary Island residents will be able to take advantage of a 20% discount on the price and the option to pay in installments will be offered again. Also, the organization rewards the loyalty of those participants who have been finishers in any edition of the race with a discount of 30 euros per edition up to a maximum of four editions.

The 360º The Challenge Gran Canaria is organized by Arista Eventos, with the sponsorship of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria through Turismo de Gran Canaria and the Instituto Insular de Deportes; the Government of the Canary Islands with Promotur – Islas Canarias; the City Council of Tejeda and Fred. Olsen Express; and the collaboration of the companies Lorenzo González Automoción, Gofio La Piña, Inerza and Provital.
