The Italian is expected to arrive in Tejeda at around 7:00 am

Arista Eventos will offer a special streaming programme with the arrival of the first runners

The Italian Marco Gubert arrived at the penultimate basecamp in Teror at 6.44PM and is already covering the 200th kilometre of the 360º The Challenge Gran Canaria near Valsendero and just 68 from the finish line in Tejeda. The race organisers expect the two-time champion to arrive at the summit town at around 7.00 hours.

Less than an hour later he is followed by the debutant in the Gran Canaria self-sufficiency race, the Frenchman Julien Chorier, who despite suffering in some parts of the route, is completing an outstanding role heading into the second and last night on the Gran Canaria trails.

The Gran Canarian Álvaro Santana reaches third place, overtaking Claudiu Beletoui after the basecamp in Santa Lucía, and is already close to the next one in Teror, where only two runners have arrived at this time.

Next, Javier Blanco, Claudiu Beletoui, Cristian Guerra and José Bordón continue their fight for fourth place with just one hour between them.

In the women’s category, Claire Bannwarth reached the Santa Lucía basecamp at 3:57 p.m. and has already covered 170 kilometres, very close to the municipality of San Mateo. As for Gran Canarian Sandra Moreno, the runner has not yet reached this strategic point and is still seven hours behind the leader.

At this time, 15 withdrawals have been recorded and 80 runners are still in the race.
